En los destinos turísticos de sol y playa es habitual que exista una oferta de ocio nocturno para completar las actividades acuáticas y de playa. Pero es propensa a críticas entre los residentes por sus potenciales impactos negativos sobre la sociedad local. El objetivo de esta investigación es medir las actitudes de los residentes hacia la oferta de ocio nocturno de Punta del Este. Punta del Este es el principal destino de sol y playa de Uruguay y uno de los más conocidos de Suramérica. Los datos proceden de una encuesta realizada en 2013 y 2014 a residentes de Maldonado y Punta del Este. Entre los resultados indicar que: el 51,7% de la muestra cree que no es un turismo de calidad; el 53,3% opina que las discotecas son un componente importante de la imagen del destino; el 62,8% consideran que este tipo de turismo genera inconvenientes a los residentes; el 56,4% piensa que no debe permitirse la libertad de horarios; el 51,4% manifiesta que no se tiene en cuenta a los residentes en la gestión. Mediante un análisis clúster se determinó que había dos grupos de residentes: los Partidarios (53%) y los Detractores (47%). La principal conclusión es que las opiniones favorables hacia el sector son escasamente mayoritarias afectando el crecimiento futuro de este tipo de oferta
In the tourist destinations of sun and sea it is usual that there is a nightlife supply to complete the water and beach activities. But it is susceptible to criticism from residents for their potential negative impacts on local society. The objective of this research is to measure the attitudes of residents towards nightlife supply of Punta del Este. Punta del Este is the leading destination for sun and sea in Uruguay and one of the best known in South America. The data come from a survey conducted in 2013 and 2014 to residents of Maldonado and Punta del Este. The results indicate that: 51.7% of the sample believes it is not quality tourism; 53.3% believe that the nightclubs are an important component of the image of the destination; 62.8% consider that this type of tourism generates inconvenience to residents; 56.4% think it should not be allowed freedom of schedules; 51.4% manifest that is not taken into account residents in the management. Using a cluster analysis it was determined that there were two groups of residents: supporters (53%) and opponents (47%). The principal conclusion is that favorable opinions towards the sector are poorly majority affecting the future growth of this type of supply
