Can a comic be used as a didactic resource when teaching History? More so now than ever, the comic is being used as a way of making History more interesting for students. The main attraction of the comics created by Jacques Martin is, among other things, his astonishing historical accuracy that allows people to enjoy his storylines as if they were historical books coming alive in front of their very own eyes. The author amazes the reader with his meticulous drawings of the uniforms and clothing of each one of the civilizations and cultures visited by his hero, Alix, as well as with the exactness of the mythological and historical tales that he presents in each story; passing through the detailed recreations of temples, palaces, sculptures and other elements of which today we are only left with the archaeological remains. It is because of this that the work of Martin could be used, thanks to its possibilities as a didactic tool for the teacher in the teaching of history
Se puede usar el cómic como un recurso didáctico para enseñar Historia? Cada vez más se usa el cómic como una forma más de acercar la Historia al alumnado. El principal atractivo de los cómics creados por Jacques Martin es, entre otros aspectos, su asombroso rigor histórico, que permite disfrutar de sus tramas como si un libro de Historia cobrase vida ante nuestros ojos. El autor abruma desde el dibujo minucioso de los uniformes o vestimentas de cada uno de las civilizaciones y culturas visitadas por su héroe, Alix, o con la rigurosidad de los relatos mitológicos e históricos que presenta en cada trama argumental; pasando por las detalladas reproducciones de templos, palacios, esculturas y otros elementos de los que hoy nos quedan apenas los restos arqueológicos. Es por ello que la obra de Martin puede ser empleada, gracias a sus posibilidades, como una herramienta didáctica más para el profesor en la enseñanza de la Historia
