The research from which this paper originates investigates, from communication practices, the acceleration of the processes that build socially childhood. Thus, this article aims to verify which childhoods arise from speeches that deny, in the MC Melody's performance, a eight-years-old funk singer, a "child life". This paper will consider the comments made by Internet users about report on the TV show "Sunday Spectacular" (Rede Record) based on the following question: "can a child sing and dance funk?". Through the proposal of grounded theory, the analysis showed, among other things, that the criticism to Melody and his family, especially his father, are based on the modern conception of childhood
A pesquisa de onde este trabalho se origina investiga, a partir de práticas comunicacionais, a aceleração dos processos que constroem socialmente a infância. Nesse sentido, este artigo objetiva verificar a que infância fazem referência os discursos que negam, na performance de MC Melody, cantora de funk de oito anos, uma "vida de criança". Serão analisados os comentários de internautas feitos em relação a uma reportagem do programa Domingo Espetacular (Rede Record) baseada na seguinte questão: "uma criança pode cantar e dançar funk?". Com base na proposta da teoria fundamentada, a análise revelou, dentre outras coisas, que as críticas à cantora mirim e a sua família, principalmente seu pai, estão embasadas em uma concepção moderna de infância
