La Corneta Acústica es una novela que pertenece a lo que he dado en llamar el periodo mexicano. Leonora Carrington la escribió a finales de los cincuenta y logra una voz que, aunque parecida a la de periodos anteriores, deja de ser trágica y se convierte en una voz lúdica, ingeniosa y, sobre todo, muy irónica: una voz revolucionariamente cómica. En La Corneta Acústica se utiliza la repetición no para problematizar la lógica narrativa, sino para exigir atención del lector al hecho de que la narrativa no es sólo una historia sobre el Grial, o Marian, o la Biblia, sino también sobre el acto y la repetición en el lenguaje, con su capacidad de generar cambios
The Hearing Trumpet is a novel that belongs to what I called the Mexican period. Leonora Carrington wrote it at the end of the fifties and achieved a voice that, albeit similar to an earlier periods, it ceased to be tragic and became into a ludic voice, witty and above all, ironic: a voice which is revolutionary comical. In The Hearing Trumpet is used the repetition not for making problematic the narrative logic but for calling the attention of the reader on the fact that the narrative is not only a story regarding the Grail or Marian, nor the Bible, but also on the act and repetition in language, with its capacity for generating changes
