Within the studies on football, some investigations stand out about the relationship between football and totalitarianism. With regard to Italian fascism, the shared hypothesis states that Mussolini occupied this sport as political propaganda, which has led to homogenize this phenomenon, assuming its expansion without distinction. The above would lead to infer that the teams raised by Italian colonies in the world, and in particular the case of the Audax Club Sportivo Italiano, were also a reflection of this policy. This article discusses this assumption, arguing that, in the case of the Audax Italiano the process of expansion of fascist culture didn't advance, due the requirements involved in the process of professionalization of local football, with the incorporation of new players away from the Fascist stereotype
Dentro de los estudios sobre el fútbol se destacan algunas investigaciones acerca de la relación entre este con los totalitarismos. En lo que respecta al fascismo italiano, la hipótesis compartida plantea que Mussolini ocupó este deporte como propaganda política, lo que ha llevado a homogenizar el fenómeno, suponiendo su expansión sin distinción. Lo anterior llevaría inferir que los equipos levantados por colonias italianas en el mundo, y en particular el caso del Audax Club Sportivo Italiano, fueron también reflejo de esta política. El presente artículo debate dicho supuesto, argumentando que, en el caso del Audax Italiano no se avanzó en el proceso de expansión de la cultura fasicista, debido a la exigencia que implicó el proceso de profesionalización del futbol local, con la incorporación de nuevos jugadores alejados del estereotipo fascista
