Apuntes acerca de la imagen-testimonio

The approach that testimonies, whether declared by words or collected in images, contain something fictitious is understandable when we inquire whether both modes of testimonial expression are distinguishable in terms of the fact pointed out, and sufficient to demonstrate or record events and memories, especially in cases of tragic enormity or complexes contexts. Even though nowadays the institutionalization of the image seems to have installed reality in a virtual zone within platforms and archives with unalterable records, there is still opportunity for images to have a testimonial sense insofar as they point to saying as explanatory silence.

La observación de que los testimonios, tanto declarados por la palabra como recogidos en las imágenes, contienen algo de ficticio resulta compresible cuando se indaga si ambos modos de expresión testimonial son realmente distinguibles en lo que atañe al hecho señalado y suficientes para demostrar o registrar sucesos y recuerdos, especialmente en casos de enormidad trágica o contextos complejos. Pese a que en la actualidad la institucionalización de la imagen parece haber instalado la realidad en una zona virtual dentro de plataformas y archivos con registros inalterables, hay lugar aún para que las imágenes puedan tener sentido testimonial en la medida en la que señalan al decir como silencio explicativo
