Falso esplendor en la ciuda...
The purpose of this work is to analyze the critique of the writer Rafael Chirbes about the convergence of space, ideology, capital and power in the urban configuration of the coastal cities of the Mediterranean coast of the end of the millennium. To do this I will focus on his novel Crematorio (2007) and his desire to show the processes of transformation of cities on the Mediterranean coast, its structural and historical bases. In this novel, the Valencian author problematizes on the process of transformation of cities like Misent in a place that constitutes the germ of the disasters of the so-called savage capitalism, initiated with Franco's desarrollismo and maintained during the later democratic governments of the Spanish State. The Misent of Crematorio presents the prototype of Mediterranean city deformed under the mirage of false splendor, space conceived through distorted ideal images, tourist slogans and an architectural design that collapse not only the space but also the time, disorienting the individual, making him a participant of the new reality-spectacle, confusing the barriers between the public and the private and inserting them in the logic of capital
El propósito de este trabajo es analizar la crítica que ofrece el escritor Rafael Chirbes de la convergencia del espacio, la ideología, el capital y el poder en la configuración urbanística de las ciudades costeras del litoral mediterráneo del fin de milenio. Para ello me centraré en su novela Crematorio (2007) y en su deseo por dejar constancia de los procesos de transformación de las ciudades de la costa mediterránea, de sus bases estructurales e históricas. En esta novela el autor valenciano problematiza sobre el proceso de transformación de ciudades como Misent en un lugar que constituirá el germen de los desastres del llamado capitalismo salvaje, iniciado en el desarrollismo franquista y mantenido durante los posteriores gobiernos democráticos del Estado español. El Misent de Crematorio presenta el prototipo de ciudad litoral valenciana deformada bajo el espejismo del falso esplendor, espacio concebido a través de imágenes ideales distorsionadas, eslóganes turísticos y un diseño arquitectónico que colapsan no solo el espacio sino también el tiempo, desorientando al individuo, haciéndolo partícipe de la nueva realidad-espectáculo, confundiéndole las barreras entre lo público y lo privado e insertándolo en las lógicas del capital
