This research proposes the study of the urban imaginary of Valparaiso from the literature of Carlos Leon. Specifically, the study was centered in the analysis of the "Intimate geography" of the city in Obras completas (2004). In this sense, and contrary to the views of the city performed by traditional literature (port, bohemian, adventurous), this view contributes to the construction of Valparaiso as a "different country". The "intimate geography" of Valparaiso is mediated by both the autobiographical literature and the antithetical images that forming a heterogeneous identity of Valparaíso
Este artículo propone un estudio del imaginario urbano de Valparaíso en la producción literaria de Carlos León. Para esto, se analiza la "geografía íntima" de la ciudad en las Obras completas (2004) del escritor chileno, la que contra las visiones literarias tradicionales de la ciudad (portuaria, bohemia, aventurera), permite comprender la construcción de un "país distinto". Esta "geografía íntima" de Valparaíso está mediada tanto por el carácter autobiográfico de su literatura como por la elaboración de imágenes antitéticas que constituyen una identidad porteña heterogénea
