This article presents a concise reflection onhuman condition, in the light of the rational subject andconsumption and use of technology, having HerbertMarcuse as a model, and taking as the main topics someof his works -Technology, War, and Fascism, Eros andCivilization, and The End of Utopia-. Through these, itwill be possible to identify some aspects of human conditionin the 20th century, addressed from the technologicalrationality in a consumers society
