I was attending my first private math class (a subject I was never good at, not even in fiction). I had already been failing the subject for some time and my parents had no choice but to condition my games in order to concentrate as much and as well as possible on the subject. I was eleven years old, and naive, I believed that children only had the occupation of playing and nothing more than playing. The tale of childhood is always a mundane distortion, seemingly nothing more than hearsay. It was 10 a.m. on a Saturday morning that promised eternity. The place I was to attend was a house of marked minimalism: a cold style, a house that occupied a large earthly portion in the depths of an affluent subdivision. The grounds of the house were wide and clear, nothing fell from the sky but blue gravity emptied of clouds; not even the little birds were allowed to fly over such an exclusive area, or at least that is what the ostentatiousness of the place implied
Asistía a mi primera clase particular de matemáticas (materia en la cual nunca fui bueno ni en la ficción). Ya llevaba tiempo reprobando la asignatura y mis padres no hallaron más remedio que el condicionar mis juegos con el objetivo de concentrarme lo mayor y mejor posible en la materia. Yo tenía once años, e ingenuo, creía que los niños sólo teníamos la ocupación de jugar y nada más que jugar. El cuento de la infancia es siempre una mundana distorsión, al parecer nada más que un cuento de oídas. Eran las 10 de la mañana de un sábado que prometía eternidad. El lugar al que debía asistir era una casa de marcado minimalismo: un estilo frío, una casa que ocupaba una gran porción terrenal en la profundidad de un fraccionamiento acaudalado. El terreno de la casa era amplio y despejado, del cielo no caía nada más que la gravedad azul vaciada de nubes; ni siquiera a los pajarillos les estaba permitido sobrevolar una zona tan exclusiva, o al menos así daba a entender lo ostentoso de aquel lugar
