El presente artículo analiza el papel del juego en El cortesano (1561) de Luis Milán. En la primera parte se realiza una aproximación histórica y cultural de la obra y se explica la vinculación del concepto del juego y el homo ludens con la literatura cortesana renacentista, en concreto, la producida en la corte virreinal valenciana. La segunda parte consiste en la categorización y descripción de los juegos mencionados en la obra, así como la relación que se establece con otras obras contemporáneas

This article analyzes the role of the game in Luis Milan's El cortesano (1561). In the first part, a historical and cultural approximation of the work is carried out and the link between the concept of play and homo ludens with Renaissance courtly literature is explained, specifically, that produced in the Valencian viceregal court. The second part consists of the categorization and description of the games mentioned in the work, as well as the relationship established with other contemporary works
