Justinus, in his known "epitome" of the work of Pompeius Trogus, speaks about a rebellion in Tire that ended the life of all the freemen of the city except one (Iust, Epit. XVIII, 3, 7-15). The article investigates the true scope and sense of this information, its real political meaning and its consequences: a change of political and social regime in Tire, sanctioned by the Neo-Babylonian Empire; a change which had a great transcendence in the Tyrian and Phoenician colonial world, especially for Carthage, that could claim to be inheritor of the original Tire. The article also investigates the nature of the sources of this passage in Pompeius Trogus
Justino, en su conocido "Epitome" de la obra de Pompeyo Trogo nos habla de una rebelión en Tiro que acabó con la vida de todos los hombres libres de la ciudad, excepto uno (Iust. Epit. XVIII, 3,7-15). El artículo investiga el verdadero alcance y sentido de esta información, su significado político real y sus consecuencias: un cambio de régimen sancionado por el Imperio Neobabilónico, cambio de régimen que tuvo una gran trascendencia en el mundo colonial tirio y fenicio, especialmente para Cartago, que pudo presentarse a sí misma como genuina heredera de Tiro. El artículo investiga así mismo la naturaleza de las fuentes de este pasaje en Pompeyo Trogo
