This session will demonstrate the core elements of a threat assessment approach on a non-traditional student. Dr. Van Brunt will develop a rapport with the student, assess for core elements of dangerousness (e.g. action and time imperative, fixation and focus, weapon access, hardened point of view and organized versus disorganized thought) and discuss how to share these results with the referring party. A list of 35 risk factors contained in the Structure Interview for Violence Risk Assessment (SIVRA-35) will be provided to follow along and identify during the interview
