"Multi-disciplinary: that means broad and wide. We took a chance with this conference. In the shadow of fighter jets, refugee camps and a world in crisis, dedicated researchers defied well-meaning travel advice and brought their voices to Istanbul. This conference was originally planned to take place in Sanliurfa so that all participants would have a chance to visit the site of excavations at astonishing Gobekli Tepe. This is the place where architecture began. This is the place that turned the world of archaeology on its head and rewrote the timelines for agriculture and human development [...] We came to Istanbul. With a most diversified range of participants, Archaeoacoustics II took on the challenge of putting empirical and interpretive investigators in the same room. We faced head-on the awareness that without careful hadling, the subject of Archaeoacoustics could be discredited as "so much New Age touchy feely nonsense." (cubierta posterior)
